GLAAD and The Black List today announced writers and television and film projects that have named some of the most promising LGBTQ screenplays on the GLAAD 2022 list yet to be produced.
The selected authors are Nick Dodan (blue boy), Roberto Fatali (electric house), Josh Feldman (Native language), Sav Rogers and Taylor Gates (i love you margo robby), Andrés Perez-Duarte (George in the sky), Jet Garnish (Fast Fast Slow), Justin Geldzahler (quiet boy), Ryan Valdes and Rachel Leiko (Re-Live, a story about the fans of the American island), Alicia H. Greven (silent springZeke-Smith (Wasps!), Karina Ansley (we are good) and C. alan broca (young punks).
Writers whose pilots have been selected: José Uceshe (30 days in Bayside), Noni Salma (badasi), WAW Parker (Baron), Black Nova Cypress (bird seeds), Debora Puet (BlaiseDana Alia Levinson (Fraud), Jeff Locker (Special) and Frank Paiva (committee tell me I’m gay).
GLAAD expanded its roster this year with 12 feature films and eight pilots, including only 10 feature film scripts in the past. They launched the first edition of The GLAAD List at Sundance Film Festival 2019 and announced the second edition at the Park City, UT festival the following year. Unlike The Blacklist, an annual poll into Hollywood executives’ favorite unproductive script, the GLAAD List is not voted on by the poll; Additionally, it’s curated by GLAAD, which is based on the highest-rated scripts provided by the blacklist, featuring lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and / or stony characters.
