On the eve of Quentin Tarantino criticized the popularity of actors playing in Marvel projects. “There are all these actors who became famous by playing these characters. But they’re not movie stars,” said the cinematographer. “Captain America is a star. Thor is a star. The heroes of these movies are stars, [а не актеры]”, – said the director.
Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu reacted to the director’s words. “If Tarantino and Scorsese were the only gateway to popularity, I would never have had the opportunity to direct a movie that grossed over $400 million,” the actor said.
“No film studio is perfect and never will be. However, I am proud to work with a company that continually strives to improve diversity on screen by creating heroes that empower and inspire people around the world.”
Recall that Quentin Tarantino recently visited the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show as part of the promotion of his book “Cinema Speculation”, in which he named six ideal films.
