Kidnappings, Disappearances: 3 Original Suspense Thrillers You Must See

How many hours wasted in Allociné looking for the thriller, the one in front of which we shiver with suspense and whose twist twists our brains? Look no further, Mad has what you need. Here are three films not to be missed.

Have you ever come across a thriller based on a very original concept ? Imagine for example a film that has only one character locked in a box from start to finish. You launch it because the tone is intriguing, the first few minutes are excellent, but suddenly a doubt arises: ” how will it last for 1h30? It’s still, the suspense and the reversals of situations won’t leave you a breather.

They are called conceptual films, and I love them. For years, I have followed them in film, on TV and on platforms. It must be said that they are very rare. But the ones I found matter among the best movies i have seen in my life (And good news: some are available on platforms right away.)

Buried on OCS, escape from a buried coffin

In BuriedPaul wakes up inside a box in which he can only lie down. The subtlety is that the coffin is buried under a ton of earth. Paul goes double your wits get out of it thanks to the meager means at his disposal, among which half empty phone.

Spanish cinema is particularly appreciated for these memorable thrillers and indeed, it is director Rodrigo Cortés who is directing the film. He is accompanied by Ryan Reynolds, the actor of Dead Pool who notices it here a masterfully embodied performance. You will be amazed at what can happen in 90 minutes in a closed coffin. Furthermore, the film is now available on OCS!

Search – missing, investigate the wanted teenager through the computer

Despite its corny title, Search – missing is an outstanding thriller. Special mention to his surprising final twist but possible to guessassuming it is attention to detail. From the point of view of form, we can bet you’ve never seen anything like it on TV or in movies. The experience is extremely immersive.

We leave you to judge for yourself as you explore the film’s labyrinth. In the meantime, here’s the rundown: Research takes place when Margot, a 16-year-old teenager, goes missing. Despite a brilliant resume, the inspector in charge of the case doesn’t have the slightest clue and the investigation doesn’t proceed. David, Margot’s father decides to take matters into his own hands, starting where no one has ever looked before: his daughter’s computer. And the best part of all is that there is you don’t even have to wait since then the movie is on Netflix!

The one guilty on Neftlix, shaking on the phone in the middle of a kidnapping

The one guilty is a Danish thriller released in 2018. The film was so successful with audiences that Americans made a remake of it with Jake Gyllenhaal. It is true that it is beautiful, but the usefulness of this version calls into question since it is good the virtuosic performance by actor Gustav Möller who helped make the original so compelling.

For 1h30, the film follows a policeman who receives the call of a woman who is being kidnapped. From his office, he just has his phone, his imagination and his intelligence to save her. This camera with millimeter scenery promises to make you live a roller coaster of emotions, from suspense to fear and above all to surprise. Unless you have Jake Gyllenhaal as your only criteria for choosing a film, we highly recommend the original 2018 version (although the US version has the advantage of being available on Netflix).

Now you have enough to spend a weekend full of thrills!
