Chris Hemsworth told Vanity Fair he discovered he had a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease, and also talked about what awaits Thor, the god of thunder.

About Alzheimer’s disease
Chris learned about his aptitude while filming the new documentary series “Unlimited.” Chris went through a series of genetic tests for the National Geographic show, which focuses on facing the reality of aging and death, and finally learned what he now calls “his greatest fear.” The player has two copies of the APOE4 gene, one from his mother and one from his father.
“One of these thousand [у которых есть две копии гена]… or one in ten thousand. I can’t remember,” said Hemsworth, adding that with these results, he had an “eight to ten times greater chance of battling a neurodegenerative disease in his lifetime.”

Despite the initial shock, the actress said that this knowledge helped her make positive changes in her life to reduce her risk of illness. “The benefit of preventing Alzheimer’s is that it works for the rest of your life. When you’re prone to cardiovascular disease, cancer, it’s all about sleep management, stress management, nutrition, movement, fitness. All of these are the same tools that need to be applied consistently in some way,” he said.
About Thor
The 39-year-old actor has appeared as Thor in eight Marvel Cinematic Universe films over a decade, from 2011’s Thor to the last Thor: Love and Thunder.

In an interview, Hemsworth said he was “completely open” to returning to the superhero role if there was “something unique, fresh and unexpected about the character and the world.”
“I’ve always loved this experience,” the actor said of his role as Thor. “I am so grateful to be able to do something new every time.”

As for fans, Hemsworth noted that if people wanted to hear something from him, then they would have something to say. However, he noted that “if he does it again we may have to close the book”. He continued, “I feel like it’s probably going to be the finale, but it’s not based on anything or any plan anyone has told me.”
“There’s a hero’s birth, a hero’s journey, then a hero’s death, and I don’t know if I’m at that stage? Who knows?” Chris explained.
