Asian seasons: spicy November and busy December at Chang Restaurant
On the cool evenings of late autumn, St. The weather in St. Petersburg is a classic of the genre. Asian gastronomy is especially attractive on such days with its colorful colors, spicy aromas, juicy ingredients and contrasting flavor games.
On November 14, the Asian seasons begin in the Chang restaurant – four weeks, four countries and four views on the gastronomy of the countries of the East. The chef of the restaurant, Denis Prokhorov, relied on popular local dishes, which are especially loved by local residents of Asian countries.
Japanese week kicks off this gastronomic journey. This week’s food quartet is uni-ikura (a popular Japanese sea urchin caviar dish), tempura shrimp, unagi don, and cotton cheesecake with matcha ice cream.
In seven days, the Korean season will begin. Denis will cook rice pudding with palm kimchi, barbecue pork ribs, and pepero – these straw cookies covered in various types of glaze are even a special holiday in Korea.
The Vietnam week program features local hits – fresh rolls with shrimp and mango, and spring rolls with chicken, shrimp and shiitake. Pho with duck legs and corn pudding completes the picture.
And at the end of the season, it will be the turn of Indian cuisine. Fragrant tandoori prawns, spicy chicken tikker masala, juicy rack of lamb with hearty lentil curry, and the classic Indian dessert – yogurt with saffron, mango and cardamom.
