King of Great Britain III. Charles celebrates his 74th birthday today!
On this occasion, the cavalry band performed the song Happy Birthday during the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace at 11 am in London. At noon, the Royal Mounted Artillery regiment gave a 41 gun salute at Green Park, London. The Scots Guard band then played Happy Birthday again in the park. An hour later the gun salute began. The honorary artillery unit fired 62 volleys of Tower artillery in honor of the king’s birthday.
As the BBC channel noted, no official events are planned for this day, Charles III will spend the holidays with his family.
But that’s not all: today Charles III also took the position of caretaker of Windsor Great Park. “The King has officially become Great Park Ranger of Windsor 70 years after his father, the Duke of Edinburgh, was appointed to the post,” the royal Twitter account said.
Charles III’s mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8 at the age of 96. Recall that Elizabeth became king after her death.
