It looks like the next generation of the Murphy family is growing up in Hollywood. Oscar winner Cillian Murphy’s 17-year-old son Aran has landed his first major role, playing the title character in the upcoming Sky and HBO drama War. Actors Dominic West and Sienna Miller, whom viewers admire for The Crown and American Sniper, will also star in the project.
Aran’s agency has already confirmed the news by publishing a post on the banned social network: “We are happy to announce that Aran Murphy has joined the cast of the series ‘War’.” According to representatives, the young actor will play the role of Gabriel, the main character in a story about love, betrayal and the behind-the-scenes games of big business.
The script of the series was written by George Kay, known for the thriller “Shijacked Flight”. In the story, two prestigious London law firms, Catcharts and Taylor & Byrne, clash in the divorce case of the century. The reputation and personal fate of millions are at stake. The film stars Dominic West as tech tycoon Morgan Henderson and Sienna Miller as his ex-wife.
Meanwhile, Cillian Murphy is also set to don the famous Tommy Shelby hat again – with the actor confirming he is returning to feature film Peaky Blinders, the sequel to the cult BBC and Netflix series.
By the way, we previously wrote that Cillian Murphy’s son joined the cast of Taika Waititi’s series Clara and the Sun. The movie is expected to be released in 2025.
