With the help of his best friend Marcus, the influencer, now head of his own brand Hotel Mahfouf, reproduced the sequence of spraying white matter on the body that is supposed to produce a dress, as a disguise for Halloween, on October 31, 2022. On Tiktok, many others also shared their take on the performance focused on Bella Hadid for Coperni:
Does a viral sequence on social media necessarily mark the history of fashion?
If this disguise is not scary, it reminds us how much Halloween is moving further and further away from the concept of horror to keep only the idea of the disguise. The more visually striking and evocative of a great moment in popular culture, the more likely it is to go viral on social networks. Something to question our relationship with strong images and what we consider memorable or not, since this great fashion moment is not even a month old yet and many industry players consider it a landmark in the history of fashion, without necessarily looking back.
