Art and fashion come together to improve mental and emotional health in our hospitals

the base [H]ARTE and the designer Arena Martínez have joined forces to launch an auction with a charitable purpose: improving mental and emotional health in our hospitals through art. A promotion for which 20 bags, designed by Arena Martínez in collaboration with artists of the stature of Juliao Sarmento, Jorge Galindo, Matías Sánchez or Miki Leal, will be auctioned. The bags, which are unique signature pieces, have a starting price of € 350 and can be bid in the online auction from Monday 24 October to Thursday 3 November at 12:00 noon.

The concept of art as a therapeutic element has been around for a few years, because in this way more friendly and humanized spaces are created that promote the stay of the sick. The auction aims to raise €15,000, the amount they need to reach the foundation endowment and continue their work of humanizing hospitals with art. Therefore, anyone who buys a bag is recognized as a patron of the foundation.

Also, On November 3 there is a cocktail event in the Only You Boutique Hotel, where the charity auction will close, this time in person, and the bags will be delivered to customers who want to participate. An action that has the cooperation and support of Auctions Duran and the support of the hotel.

the base [H]Founded in 2020 by Tamara Kreisler and Silvia Centeno, ARTE was born with the mission of improving mental and emotional health in our hospitals through art. There is a recognized positive link between art, culture and mental health and its activity consists of organizing art exhibitions, art therapy workshops and interventions in hospitals to humanize the experience of patients, companions and health professionals. It is currently present in the San Rafael Hospital (Madrid), the Vithas Madrid Hospital in Aravaca, the Quirón Hospital Group and the Red Cross Hospital in Madrid. Thanks to the activity of the past year, more than half a million people have been able to enjoy works of art in these hospitals.

Arena Martínez was born in 2017 with the mission of bringing art to the streets, taking it out of museums and capturing it in its collections. During these years he has collaborated with artists such as Papartus or the Toyota car brand, to adapt one of their models. The fashion designer and gallery owner created this project five years ago with the idea of ​​designing 20 bags, sending them to artists for intervention and donating the money to charity.
