The right to breastfeed anytime, anywhere

In France, breastfeeding is a right, even if too often he is mocked. In France, no one can prohibit breastfeeding in public places.

But if no law prohibits breastfeeding in public space, there is still no law for it guarantee the right to breastfeeding outside the home.

In this sense, several French deputies presented a bill last year a penalize anyone who tries to prevent a woman from breastfeeding in a public place. This law, not yet adopted to date, has been referred to the commission, and could be validated in the future.

Breastfeeding is not an act of sexual exhibition.

Notice to critics against breastfeeding in public space: breastfeeding is not an act of sexual exhibition. Article 222-32 of the Criminal Code, which defines sexual exhibition, states that sexual exhibition is when the explicit commission of a real or simulated sexual act is imposed on the sight of others. Breastfeeding is the act of giving your own milk to your baby, so it is nothing sexual.
