Kanye West is in big trouble. A relative of George Floyd, who was killed while being arrested by a Minneapolis police officer in 2020, has filed a $250 million lawsuit against the rapper.
Roxy Washington, the mother of one of George’s daughters, claims that Ye spread “malicious lies” about Floyd to make money. The woman believes that Kanye’s statements contributed to the increase in her income, business partners and employees.
It is worth remembering that West previously expressed his views on the causes of death of George Floyd. He stated on the Drink Champs podcast that the man died not from the actions of a police officer, but from an overdose of fentanyl. “If you’re looking, the cop’s knee wasn’t even on Floyd’s neck,” the rapper said. Meanwhile, Hennepin County chief medical examiner argued in his statement that heart disease and fentanyl use contributed to, but not caused, George’s death.
