We are always ready to bring you the trends of the moment. Whether you’re browsing fashion company websites, inspired by street style outfits, or users on social networks like Instagram or TikTok, we don’t stop at our efforts to let you know the essence of the moment. And this time we’re going to talk about hair bows. Already in the different street style looks of the main fashion weeks that took place last September, we were able to show top influencers like Ami and Aya Suzuki – the content creator twins known on Instagram as Amiaya, in the main image – in Paris. They, like high pigtails, complemented their hair look with two bows around each of their pigtails.
After seeing these first signs, we already thought that bows could be the perfect accessory for many looks, and this week we confirmed our theory thanks to social networks. Two of the best influencers in our country, Teresa Andrés Gonzalvo and Rocío Osorno, have posted two photos on Instagram where bows are the full protagonists in their appearance. First of all, the Valencian chose to add a personalized bow as a scrunchie to her braid -as you can already see in the image above-. While the Sevillian (below) opted for a high and wavy ponytail with bangs where a large black bow served as the ponytail holder. Both with a completely different appearance, but with one element in common: the romance that this ornament gave them.
The emergence of this element may be due to the growing trend of American preppy aesthetics, in which accessories as feminine and romantic as these are essential. And it is that, if you are wearing a feminine and elegant look -such as a prom dress, a suit or a two piece blouse and trousers- a bow in the hair will always enhance this childish side. But pairing it with a more risqué and sensuous style, like the one worn by Osorno with leopard print and leather-effect cutouts, will tone down the bold aesthetic by giving it a touch of innocence.
Be that as it may, this ornament promises to be indispensable in our looks this fall/winter, both for everyday wear and for events. You can wear it as often as these influencers suggest, with updos like pigtails, pigtails, or pigtails – enhancing the girly aesthetic even more – or with your hair down. If you’ve also fallen in love with this trend, here’s six bow proposals you can bet on an essential street style:
