The first corgi was given to Elizabeth by her father, George VI, for her birthday when she was 18. In total, His Majesty has owned about 30 Corgis in his entire life. Growing up, Elizabeth became so interested in dog breeding that she became friends with nearly every reputable breeder in the UK.
