New chapter in Burberry history: Daniel Lee appointed as creative director

Rumors of Ricardo Tisci leaving Burberry have been circulating for over two years. And each time they grew. And after the demonstration of their new spring-summer collection, they became more and more insistent – people from the industry confidently said that this show will be the last major collaboration between Burberry and Ricardo Tisci. And so it happened.

It has just been learned that British designer Daniel Lee, who made the world dream of Bottega Veneta, is the new creative director. True, his position literally seems to be Chief Creative Officer, so most likely his powers will be limited.

Recall that almost a year ago, on November 10, Daniel Lee left Bottega Veneta. And they say, it’s not just like that. At one time, there were active rumors that he was sacked for racist remarks. After Lee’s departure, many colleagues in the shop claimed that it was impossible to work with him.

In any case, he was the one who breathed new life into the Italian brand, created some coveted bags, brought back the square-toe shoes and showed the world how to work with influencers. Speaking of the latter, many reputable media have repeatedly accused him of driving the success of the accessories.

We’ll find out what Daniel Lee has in store for Burberry at London Fashion Week in February.
