Vampires, we will never tire of them, and may the show get it right.
And like the restarts And remake they are on the rise, for better or for worse, no one was really surprised when it was announcedInterview with a vampirecult film by Neil Jordan, released in the 90s with, excuse me, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderas, but also a very young Kirsten Dunst.
The adaptation of the seminal work by writer Anne Rice has been a great success with critics and audiences, showing neither more nor less than the daily life of a homoparental family, where two dads do their best to raise their daughter and pass on values to her. Well, and then it turns out that all these little people sleeps in coffins and feeds on human blood.
No more ambiguity, Louis and Lestat will have the story they deserve
What does it have in store for us? remake ? More or less the same story, divided into eight episodes.
We will find Jacob Andersonwe discovered in Game of Thrones, for the role of Louis alongside Sam Reid, who has the heavy burden of carrying the role of the charismatic Lestat on his shoulders. If the first images revealed in the droplets for several weeks still hadn’t shown much, the trailer finally available gives pride of place to the delicious chemistry between the two men.
This new version he will then fully assume the relationship between Lestat and Louisits carnal and sexual dimension, its homoerotic charge, very palpable for the wise but nevertheless fearful observer in the 1994 film, who then privileged ambiguity over a frank representation of the attraction between the two men.
“He was my killer, my mentor, my lover and the one who created me” remembers Louis years (centuries!) after their story, as according to Anne Rice’s original story, Interview with a vampire will be there again for a long time flashback.
The series is scheduled to air on October 2, 2022 in the United States, but does not yet have a broadcaster in France.
