Halle Bailey in The Little Mermaid

At the D23 Expo convention, Disney presented trailers of its new projects – the film adaptation of the 1989 cartoon “The Little Mermaid”, as well as the films “Hocus Pocus 2” and “Enchanted 2”.

The Little Mermaid adaptation will hit theaters on May 26, 2023. The movie will feature many songs from the cult cartoon, which won an Oscar for Best Original Score. In the trailer, lead singer Halle Bailey performs the famous song Part of Your World, written by composer Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman.

The film also stars Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton.

Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere on September 30, just before Halloween. Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy starred again in the sequel to the picture about the three witch sisters.

The sequel to the romantic comedy Enchanted, starring Amy Adams, will hit theaters on November 24. According to the plot, the main character, Giselle, who moves to the suburbs with her family, turns to magical powers to make her life look like a fairy tale again, but everything doesn’t go according to plan and she turns into an evil stepmother.

Earlier it became known in June that British director Guy Ritchie (Locks, Stock, Two Smoke Barrels, Snatch, The Gentlemen) will shoot the film version of the classic Disney cartoon Hercules.
