The former mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman, was detained on charges of discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, his apartment was searched. According to RIA Novosti, a criminal case was opened because of a YouTube video posted by the politician.

Roizman was the mayor of Yekaterinburg from 2013 to 2018, after which he worked at the Ekho Moskvy radio station and was engaged in social activities. He is also known as the founder of the Drug Free City Foundation, which fights drug trafficking in Yekaterinburg.
