Rutherford departed Sofia on 23 March 2022. He visited Italy and Greece, and then crossed Asia, Africa, the USA and two oceans. Five months later, Mark landed again in Sofia. Rutherford broke Travis Ludlow’s world record for circumnavigating the Earth at the age of 18 years and 150 days in 2021.

Recall that earlier Rutherford was the youngest pilot in the world. He received his pilot’s license in July 2020, when he was just 15 years old and two weeks old. By the way, Mac’s sister is Zara Rutherford, a famous 20-year-old pilot. She also toured the world in an ultra-light plane in January 2022 and entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest woman to make such a journey.
