Metallica frontman James Hetfield is divorcing his wife, Francesca, to whom he has been married for 25 years. According to TMZ, the musician filed the relevant documents earlier in the year.

According to an insider, James and Francesca continue to communicate for the sake of three common children – the daughters of Cali and Marcella and the son of Castor.

Thanks to the group, the rocker met his future wife – Francesca, who was a costume designer for Metallica. The couple got married in 1997 after several years of dating.

James had previously admitted to reporters that his marriage was having difficulties due to addictions. In an interview with Joe Rogan in 2017, he said that Francesca helped him deal with tantrums and alcohol addiction.

For Francesca’s sake, James kept himself in check for a long time, but in 2020 Metallica canceled a concert tour as Hetfield again had to undergo treatment at a rehab center.
