Barack Obama returned to the White House on Tuesday for the first time in five years and, as he began speaking, called Joe Biden “vice president”.
“It was a joke,” said Obama, the current president and current vice president.
Then he hugged Biden.
“Everything has been organized. My president, Joe Biden. “Vice President Harris,” Obama said.
Obama was attending an event to mark the 12th anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act, as well as a proposal to correct the so-called “family defect.”
When he began his speech in the East Room, Obama joked: “I have heard that the current president has made some changes since the last time I was here. It seems that secret service agents now have to wear aviator goggles. L “Marine mutiny has been replaced by Baskin Robbins. And there the cat runs. I guarantee you that Bo and Sun would be very unhappy.”
“On my return, even though I have to wear a tie, which I rarely do these days, let me visit some of the incredible people who serve this White House and serve this country every day.”
Obama talked about how difficult it was to get an affordable care law. “Despite the great opportunities, Joe and I were determined because during the election campaign we met so many people who shared their stories and made our families sick.
He said he “intended to receive medical treatment, even though it cost me re-election, which seemed to be the case for a while.” The crowd in the room smiled.
“The ACA was an example of why you were using the position,” he said. “We don’t have to do it just to take office or take power. We have to do it because it changes the lives of the people who sent us here. “
Obama also drew attention to the moment he signed the ACA, with Biden telling him, “This is a big deal!”
When Biden began his speech, he said, “My name is Joe Biden and I am Barack Obama’s Vice President.” He told Obama more seriously, “Welcome to the White House, man. Seems like the good old days. “
Before signing the new health care executive order, Biden said, “Barak, let me remind you this is a hot microphone.”
