Good news, the birth premium is on the rise!

The government has decided to increase the amount of the premium paid to future parents, subject to verification of the means.

Bring out the champagne (no). If you did not already know, when a child is welcomed for the first time, or for the following ones, the CAF (Family Checks Fund) can pay a large sum, subject to income.

The birth bonus, what is it?

The birth allowance is part of the childcare servicethe Paje for intimates, and also includes the basic allowance, the shared child education subsidy (PreParE), the supplement for the free choice of childcare (Cmg) but also the adoption bonus.

All persons who are expecting a child and who reside in France can be entitled to it, if their income does not exceed a certain ceilingand that the general conditions for receiving family allowances are met.

Furthermore, as indicated on the Caf website, to benefit from this bonus it is necessary (or your doctor) having declared pregnancy within the first 14 weeks to the Caf and the Primary Health Insurance Fund.

If all this is done (and you are registered with the CAF), the calculation and payment of the birth bonus is automatic, you have no other steps to take.

Paid during the 7th month of pregnancy, it helps reduce the cost of expenses related to the birth or adoption of a child, such as baby equipment, a possible move if the current accommodation is too small, or contributes at the cost of buying a larger car to transport the baby.

It does not matter how you use the amount that is transmitted to you.
