As the old sages of the Official Façade Renovation Council say, high temperatures + makeup do not mix. While some prefer not to wear anything to play with light eyes and bare skin, others really can’t do without it. How to keep these delicate products? The answer is just below.
Keep the mascara
As soon as it gets wet, mascara has an annoying tendency to do so dripping at the corners and under the eyes to give us a panda look that we could do without. This phenomenon is particularly difficult for contact lens wearers because the the deposits reach the mucous membrane of the eye and can, once under the lens, be responsible for irritation.
- Solution n. 1: waterproof mascara. Wearing waterproof mascara in the summer is a great option. It does not drip, is not sensitive to sweat or humidity and can be removed very well with cleansing oil or biphasic make-up remover. Do you want to wear it all year round? Better to avoid, because waterproof mascara tends to weaken lashes by drying them out and is less easily removed than a classic mascara.
- Solution n. 2: transparent mascara. It is reserved for people who want it quickly disciplines lashes without necessarily coloring them or having a really made-up effect. Basically, clear mascara opens the eyes without depositing color or material. Suffice it to say that you probably won’t find any on your cheeks at the end of the afternoon … The only drawback: for very thin and very short lashes, the effect will be very light. But if you want to go to the beach or the pool, this is the perfect product!
- Solution n. 3: If you don’t have waterproof or transparent mascara on and you don’t want to buy any, know that there is a very simple solution, discovered on TikTok. The latter is composed of dip the mascara brush into a loose powder and dip it into the tube so that the powder is mixed with the formula. Designed to repel moisture, the latter will allow the mascara to do so resist sweat without sinking. A real revolution.

Hold the pencil / eyeliner
When you put on eyeliner or pencil and it’s very hot, they can smudge on the upper eyelid and fades throughout the day. The one guilty ? Their creamy formula that melts in the sun like a bank account on a sales day at Sephora.
- Solution n. 1: the base for the eyelids. For people who do not naturally have oily eyelids, this product will suffice during the heat. And no, it doesn’t just work with eyeshadow! Simply apply the equivalent of a small grain of rice all over the eyelid, then apply the pencil or eyeliner of your choice : this will hold much better and will no longer turn in the folds.
- Solution n. 2: waterproof pencils and liners. Nothing could be simpler, we agree! In the waterproof version, pencils and pencils are quite resistant to the sun. Two flaws to take into consideration though: you have to use a good makeup remover to remove them. And unfortunately they are not suitable for the most sensitive eyesso be careful if this is your case.
- Solution n. 3: transforms its products into waterproof. Make Up For Ever aqua seal allows you this fabulous feat. You just have to pass the product with a thin brush on your pencil or line of liner and presto, these are resistant to water and sweat. Ok the costs of the product € 25 but it works with absolutely everything, even with powders. As a result, the investment quickly pays for itself.

Create your foundation and concealer in stick
Today, many formulas are made to provide a glowing effect to the skin and plenty of light around the eyes. The problem is that the products are often quite greasy, and therefore do not offer a heat resistant result. Fortunately, there are solutions to make them suitable for the summer.
- Solution n. 1 : primer. Okay, we’re not inventing face powder, but using a (good) primer before applying your foundation and concealer can offer real added value in terms of hold.
- Solution n. 2 : the fixing spray. On the market today there are fixing sprays capable of to keep make-up even below 40 ° C. To test them, you can apply some foundation or concealer directly to your hand and spray the fixing spray about 20 cm away. Then run your fingers over the dry area and admire the result!
- Solution n. 3: loose powder. The eye area is thin and fragile. However, you can very easily apply some loose powder to fix the concealer and prevent it from twisting in the creases of dehydration. This gesture will also allow your product to last longer despite the humidity.
