Brothers: After the screaming stops Producer Lorton Entertainment then turns the camera on iconic British singer James Blunt in the document, titled “rear molding Meet Alan Partridge.

Director Chris Atkins’ untitled behind-the-scenes documentary is billed as “a brutally honest story about a painfully self-aware, relentlessly traveling musician for whom resilience ultimately wins.”

The synopsis reads: “This is the story of an elderly British pop star who still struggles to be relevant 17 years after her momentary rise to stardom. No one has a more extraordinary story than James Blunt. Soldier-turned-singer has one of the most challenging careers in music history.

Blunt served in NATO during the 1999 Kosovo War before releasing the single “You’re Beautiful” and an album. Let’s go back to Bedlam, which remains one of the biggest sellers of all time in the UK. Despite the mega-popularity of the single and the album, both were struck down by music critics and received backlash from the public until his irreverent style and self-deprecating humor began to restore his relationship with the British public.

Shot on the road during his aptly named Greatest Hit Tour, director Atkins followed Blunt around Europe and had all kinds of access. Doc explores his unique history, witnessing the genocide, recording the Naughties’ best-selling album, the backlash that followed their lightning-fast success, and then returning to Twitter to become a national treasure.

“In hindsight, I’m not sure it was a good idea to film it,” Blunt said in a press release.

Lorton was one of the producers behind a similar themed document, Brothers: After the screaming stops, which was a comically entertaining yet intimate look at the disparate lives of the 1980s British pop duo Bros as they tried to reform for a one-of-a-kind concert. It aired on BBC Four and won RTS, UK National Film Awards and BAFTA Craft Awards, as well as a BAFTA nomination.
