Lee Rosenthal, president of world physical production for Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios, today announced the promotion of Hanson. Here is the memo of him, which was distributed to Paramount and Nick:
Dear team,
As our organization continues to pursue an overall strategy to align and optimize the production teams at Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios, I want to share an exciting update.
I am proud to announce that Shari Hanson, an exemplary executive and invaluable member of our team, has been promoted to executive vice president of physical production and visual effects for Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Animation. In addition to her work on Paramount live action films, Shari’s portfolio will expand to include our hybrid animated / live action titles produced by Nick Animation.
As we all know, Shari is an excellent physical production manager and a trusted partner to our producers, as this demonstrates the Lost City, Clifford the big red dog, Man cufflinks Y walk. With this newly created hybrid role, we have an incredible opportunity to leverage our visual effects and production work in unique and collaborative ways moving forward. Given her thirty years in production, visual effects experience, and strong and trusted relationships with films, I have no doubt Shari will elevate our visual effects operations as we continue to elevate our lists in 2023-24 and beyond. .
Prior to joining us in 2015 as a physical production executive, Shari worked with Paramount on some of their best-loved franchises. After starting his career in advertising, his passion for visual storytelling led him to Industrial Light & Magic in 1994, where he climbed the production ladder of over 200 commercials, music videos and feature films. In an era of tremendous innovation in visual effects, Shari has been the visual effects producer for several groundbreaking films such as Helmet, Tomorrow is the day, island, Mission: Impossible 3 Y transformers. Building on his relationships with the director and the studio, he moved on to freelance work, producing visual effects, associate producer and co-producer of films such as a serious roadAcademy Award® Range, Lone Ranger Y genesis of the terminator. Shari has worked with many of the industry’s most respected directors, including Ang Lee, JJ Abrams, Michael Bay and Gore Verbinski.
It’s amazing to think about how much we’ve accomplished as a studio since the beginning of the year, and I’m so grateful and proud to be a part of this team. I hope everyone really feels our momentum and understands how important our experience is to the organization as a whole.
Thank you all for your dedication, hard work and passion, and please join me in congratulating Shari on this new role!
