American writer and journalist Ken Auletta talked about his book Hollywood Finale: Harvey Weinstein and the Culture of Silence in an interview with The New York Times. Released July 12, the book will explore how Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and abuse, found success, who helped him, and how the most influential people entered their circles.
Having recorded 30 new interviews with Harvey’s younger brother, Bob Weinstein, for the sake of this biography, the author met and corresponded with Harvey’s victims.
Auletta answered a journalist’s question about why the producer, who is married to beautiful women, is interested in those who find him “disgusting.”

Auletta writes in her book that Weinstein did not allow her to harass women until she came to power. He added that many of Weinstein’s friends, including politicians, have turned a blind eye to rumors about him.

Then Auletta wanted to write about that story, but the case didn’t reach court: Weinstein paid the model $1 million in exchange for written testimony: the model stated she was “behaving properly.”
