Eric Holder Jr. was found guilty of first-degree murder in the murder of rapper Nifty Husley in 2019.
A Los Angeles County jury also today found Holder, 32, guilty of two counts of attempted aggravated assault with a firearm that injured and injured two others on March 31, 2019. Holder was also found guilty of possession of a firearm by a criminal.
Holder admitted to shooting Hasle outside of the musician’s clothing store in South Los Angeles, but insists the murder was an impulsive act committed “in the heat of passion,” as his lawyer Aaron Jansen claimed during the trial.
Assistant District Attorney John McKinney said the murder was “in cold blood” and “premeditated”.
The prosecutor described the defense argument as “nonsense”, saying “He is not angry”.
Jurors debated for about five hours on Friday and then met for more than half an hour Wednesday morning before reaching a verdict. Holder faces life in prison when convicted on September 15.
