The mini-pilot responded to the academy on social media for inaction after Will Smith beat Chris Rock at the Oscars on Sunday.
Writing on Twitter, the host said he and another academy member had received a message saying the organization was investigating the incident further.
Yesterday, the contracting authority released a statement detailing the next steps, apologizing to Rock and saying that Smith was asked to leave the ceremony but refused.
Driver criticized the comment for the content: “There is no explanation why anyone stepped in to help Chris Rock more; Why did the producers and the academy abandon it and expect it to continue?
Rocky was visibly shaken after the incident but continued to host. During his first live comedy show since last night’s ceremony, he received a standing ovation and told the audience that he was still “working on what happened”.
Here is the tweet of the pilot:
I got a letter @ The Academy Today she speaks to members about the week’s events and how they are doing. No explanation why no one stepped in to help Chris Rock later on; Why did the producers and the academy abandon it and expect it to continue?
