After nearly 20 years with CNN and HLN, new day on weekends Host Paul Tearful said goodbye and announced that he was doing his last show, and that it was part of the so-called “big resignation” movement where people were leaving permanent employment for other opportunities. He said he was going to Ohio, home.
Paul tearfully said that he made this decision in January and that an early schedule kept him away from his family. “At one point my husband and I looked at each other and said, ‘We have to go home,'” Paul told co-host Boris Sánchez. “I’m sick of being tired,” he added.
Paul said he’d be joining the Ohio news station, but didn’t mention where his new home would be.
He said he told former CNN chairman Jeff Zucker that he would be leaving in January.
