From “Forrest Gump” to “Kill Bill”: what kind of sneakers are the heroes of cult movies

In June 1994, the legendary movie Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks, was released. Every year we review (and every year we cry at the end of the picture) this touching comedy drama about a kind man with an open heart and an extraordinary life story.

Inspired by Robert Zemeckis’ masterpiece, we even got ourselves a Nike Cortez. The same shoe that the love of his life gave Forrest.

The scene has become iconic and this Nike model is still on trend. After the movie’s release, Cortez with her red swoosh became the object of desire of all street snobs and sneakerheads. And this despite the fact that their history began in 1972.

There are many examples of the popularization of sneakers in the cinema. After The Basketball Diary was released, everyone started wearing Converse Chuck Taylor and thanks to the movie Like Mike, teenagers turned their shoes into Nike Blazers. In our material, we show what other sneakers are worn by the heroes of cult films.
