‘MR-9’: Michael Jai White, ABM Sumon, Matt Passmore, More, join Frank Grillo’s action film; shooting in progress

Grillo’s son Remy Grillo will make his acting debut on a project he’s shooting in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The action spy thriller from screenwriter and director Asif Akbar is based on the famous novels by Masoud Rana written by the late Qazi novelist Anwar Hussein. The details of the story are kept under wraps, but we do know that Cricket will play Rana, codenamed MR-9, an enemy of the enemy of the Bangladesh Counterintelligence Agency.

Bengali actor ABM Sumon will be titled MR-9. The film will be shot in English and Bengali.

The film is an adaptation of the first original novel. Masood Rana: Dongsho Pahari (demolition hill). Hussein has published 550 novels published in the series, which are influenced by the James Bond franchise.

Bangladesh-based production company Jaaz Multimedia, Los Angeles-based Al Bravo Films and MR-9 Films have teamed up to produce the film. Producers are Al Bravo, Hemdee Kiwanuka, Colin Bates, Akbar, Philip Tan and Abdul Aziz with Nico Foster, Peter Nguyen and Philip B. Goldfine as executive producers.
