Scientists explain this with the fact that in moments of silence, the brain activates the mostly called the default network – when a person is not engaged in external tasks. In such minutes, the brain accumulates information, orders thoughts and forms the basis of education and creativity.

Although experiments were performed on animals, similar results were confirmed by people. They have already proved their activities of awareness and meditation practices associated with silence: the participants of such programs have noted an increase in the intensity of the gray substance in the brain and a decrease in anxiety.

In addition to the benefits of the brain, silence has a useful effect on the body as a whole. Cortisol reduces stress hormone level, helps to normalize sleep and improves concentration. Unlike music, even short silence is more effective for loosening the nervous system.
