455 visitors attended the experiment. Previously, they had filled anonymous profiles about hygiene, nutrition and behavior, including alcohol use.

It is reported that the participants of the study place their hands with mosquitoes where insects are selected between the human arm and a sugary nutrient. Thanks to a special grille, mosquitoes felt the smell of skin, but could not bite volunteers.

Insects appeared to have chosen more often for consuming alcohol. According to the researcher Felix Hall, such drinks change the smell and body temperature, which makes a person more attractive to mosquitoes.

In addition, insects have shown that interest in people who have recently had sexual contact. At the same time, the participants who applied sunscreen or missed the morning shower on the skin were much less interested in mosquitoes.
