The Film Academy announced the new schedule of Oscars-related events. The reason was the fires in California.
Candidate selection was supposed to end on January 12, but was brought forward two days. It has now been learned that the main film award nominees will be announced at a virtual event on January 23.
The Academy also announced that its annual Oscar nominees luncheon, originally scheduled for Monday, February 10, has been canceled. The 97th Academy Awards are scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 2, at the Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood, Variety reports.
