On the day of the tragedy, Bret Watson was at the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires with his young wife and guests. The One Direction singer was on the ground floor of a hotel with his wedding planner when he fell to his death.
In a TMZ documentary, Watson said she and her guests saw the singer becoming increasingly frantic. Watson said he saw hotel staff carry Payne from the lobby to the hotel room by his arms and legs. He was then left alone in the room and soon fell off the balcony.
“Time stopped or slowed down. The wedding planner and I looked at each other and realized this was actually happening. It’s heartbreaking to see someone fall like this. This is what is engraved in my mind. It’s something I’ll never forget,” Watson said.
Recently, a waiter whom prosecutors wanted to charge in connection with the death of Liam Payne admitted to using illegal substances with the singer. But he insists that he is not their trader and does not receive money for it.
