Toronto and San Francisco Film Critics Circle selected Yura Borisov as Best Supporting Actor for his role in Anora. Next Best Picture follows its success at the Toronto Film Critics Association (TFCA) awards.

Canadian critics praised his acting skills, placing him on par with Kieran Culkin’s performance in True Pain. The Russian actor managed to beat Zoe Saldana from ‘Emilia Perez’, Jeremy Strong from ‘The Apprentice’ and Denzel Washington from ‘Gladiator 2’. Yura’s partner in Anora, Mikey Madison, shared the best actress title with The Harsh Truth’s Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
Critics from San Francisco noted not only Borisov, but also “Anora”. It won Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, and Sean Baker’s editing also outshined the competition.
Let us recall that foreign critics have repeatedly praised Yura Borisov for his skill. The actor was most recently nominated for the prestigious Critics’ Choice Awards.
