Squid Game’s lead actor Lee Jong-jae challenged himself by returning to the role. According to her, Song Ki Hoon has completely changed.
According to the actor, acting in the sequel of the series was not very fun. Lee stated that Gi Hoon was a funny and very emotional character in the first episode. But after going through a brutal game, the hero, filled with revenge, no longer intends to joke.

“I was a character who had to accept the history and trauma of all the different players in the play. I was interested in trying this new character because he is more serious and experienced. It was a challenge for me,” Variety quotes the actor as saying.
The show’s director recently explained what prompted him to make a sequel to Squid Game even though he had only planned one season of the series. The creator stated that he only had a small clue left to develop the plot.
