In addition to the rescue teams involved in extinguishing the fire, experts involved in the restoration of the cathedral also attended the opening. More than 700 million euros were allocated for the restoration of the historical monument (over 74 billion rubles – Note ed.). In 2025, the next phase of recovery will begin, for which another 140 million euros (almost 15 billion rubles) will be provided. Note ed.). The restoration work on the cathedral is expected to be fully completed in 2029-2030.

April 15, 2019 is a date that will forever remain in the memory of the French and the whole world. About six years ago, Notre Dame went up in flames. The fire, which could not be extinguished for more than 12 hours, caused the collapse of one third of the temple’s tower and roof. The prosecutor’s office believes that the cause of the fire may have been an electrical malfunction or an unextinguished cigarette. In early November, the bells rang again at Notre Dame for the first time since the fire.
