The court evaluated P. Diddy’s bail request. The rapper wanted to spend this time under house arrest before the real decision.
The federal judge denied the musician’s request and did not modify the preventive measure. Diddy will remain in a Brooklyn jail until May next year. “The government has demonstrated by clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions can reasonably ensure public safety,” People wrote in the official decision.
The music mogul has been behind bars since being charged with federal sex crimes in September. Diddy had previously been denied bail by two different judges who expressed concerns about his influence on witnesses.
In an effort to keep him behind bars, prosecutors argued that if he was released, he could put pressure on those involved. Moreover, he made similar attempts within the walls of a reformatory.
