Ben Affleck reassures those who believe artificial intelligence will destroy the film industry. The actor and producer is hopeful for the future.
Speaking at a discussion at the CNBC Delivering Alpha investor summit, Affleck expressed his confidence that a neural network could not independently create a movie from start to finish. “AI can write you mock-poems that look like the great Elizabethan era. But it can’t be Shakespeare,” Ben Affleck was quoted as saying by Entertainment Weekly.
The actor stated that neural networks have problems with quality control and artistic taste, but the technology will truly affect the film industry of the future. According to the producer, this will affect the cost of special effects and simple operations.
We recently wrote about Nicolas Cage’s concerns. The actor does not want the neural networks to “revive” him after death.
