Stellan Skarsgard said that director Ingmar Bergman was dependent on his Nazi views

Actor Stellan Skarsgard said he was a cult Swedish director at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, and he cried after Hitler’s death.

Scarsgard said that the difficult relationship with Bergman is connected to the fact that the director is not the most pleasant person. The actor notes his directing skills, but he personally treats him quite negatively:
“Bergman was able to manipulate. During the war, a Nazis and Hitler were the only people of my friends who cried when he died. We continued to righte, but he believed that he was very strange about other people. He believed that some people were worthless. You felt it when he manipulated others. He was a rude man.”

Previously, in an interview with Guardian in 2012, Stellan Skarsgard already spoke similarly:
“Bergman was extremely smart, but as a man, I never loved him <…> He destroyed people to make the best actors, but to use his strength. ”
