The fans of the “Calmar Games” have been perplexed for years: why are scenes with Western VIP guests in such an expensive and gloomy series of it so ridiculous? The answer was simpler and absurd than expected – and eventually received a confirmation from the actor himself.
Brian Bukko, who played one of the VIP characters in the third season, gave in to social networks: in the Korean version of the show, which is viewed by most of the audience, his voice … replaced. Although he initially spoke English on the set, in the last installation on top of his comments, another explained-“nasite in English”, no matter how strange it sounds.
Bukko responded to the viral Tiktok, in which the wooden game of VIP guests again ridiculed and explained:
“This darnchronized. I really played in the podium, but my voice is not mine.”
To the question – why duplicate the English spread – actor in English – there is no answer to the end. Bukko assumes that this can be due to technical nuances or contracts:
“If duplicated English replicas are heard in the Korean version, this means that some fragments have been repaired for the purity of sound.”
According to him, such things are ready on Netflix with package: if the contractor is responsible for dubbing, he fully votes for all content, even if it looks strange.
At the same time, in some international versions of the “Game in the Squid”-for example, for example for English-language countries-the original voice of Bukko, remained. The actor even placed examples of scenes where he sounds, and the same scenes where the voice is already different. The difference, to say the least, is noticeable.
Bukko really admitted that participation in the project left his mixed feelings:
“Every evening we sat with other actors, read the text and did not understand how to play. There was no one in the neighborhood – only a leading and empty room. When I saw the result, I agreed with critics: these scenes did not help the plot in particular.”
VIP characters cause disputes from the first season. Their wooden game, comic accent and strange dialogues have long been a reason for jokes. Now that it turned out that the audience had not heard the actors, but the secondary dubbeynchronization fell into place.
