The remake follows happily married lawyers Amanda and Steve Bowden, whose lives are in danger when criminal Max Cady (Bardem) is released from prison after serving a long sentence for rape. His lawyer is filled with hatred for Steve: 14 years ago, he withheld information that could have exonerated Max. Variety writes that all this time he was preparing a plan for revenge.
For the first time, work on a 10-episode project became known in 2023. Meanwhile, Scorsese and Spielberg collaborated on the original version of the story in 1991. Later, Scorsese directed and Steven Spielberg became the producer. The main antagonist of the thriller was played by Robert De Niro.
