The 60-year-old actor said filming on the third installment of the popular historical drama wrapped up this summer and “all stories will be closed.” Hugh Bonneville played Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham, son of Dame Maggie’s character Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, in the soap from 2010 to 2015.

Speaking on Chris Evans’ morning show on Virgin Radio UK, Hugh paid tribute to his late colleague, saying: “It’s mostly at home where we say goodbye to all these characters and of course we say goodbye to Lady Maggie as well. On screen and now in real life.” “It was very touching.” The actor added that Maggie Smith will be greatly missed.

By the way, after the death of the actress, a video appeared on the Internet in which she admitted that she had never watched “Downton Abbey”. The artist was also happy with the ending of the series.
