Rihanna will attend the 2025 Met Gala with her boyfriend. A$AP Rocky was named co-chair of the iconic event.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 36-year-old star confirmed that she will attend the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 5, 2025. “Rocky didn’t tell me anything about his plans. “For now, all we plan to do is be there,” Rihanna said.
Rihanna is a Met Gala veteran in her own right, having first debuted at the fashion event in 2009 in an ethereal white Georges Chakra gown adorned with crystals. She has appeared on the red carpet more than a dozen times since then. Some of her best looks have become iconic in gala history; especially the papal-inspired Maison Margiela Artisanal John Galliano’s choice of theme for its 2018 “Heavenly Bodies.”
A$AP Rocky also had unforgettable performances at the Met Gala. In 2021, he debuted a giant multicolored blanket alongside Rihanna. The couple made their mark in 2023 and once again closed the red carpet with looks dedicated to the late Karl Lagerfeld.
He missed the double event in 2024. Many assumed the star had fallen out with Anna Wintour the day before. However, Rihanna later reported that she fell ill right before the prom and had to stay home.
