Mariah Carey believes her work is underrated. Over the years, he has received only five Grammy statuettes. Two of these were awarded to the singer in the first year of her career.

Mariah Carey has 19 chart-topping songs worldwide; This figure is more than any other solo artist, but Recording Academy recognition has been a bit of a challenge for the singer.

In the latest episode of Las Culturistas, Carey made a rare comment on the difficult situation. “They cheated on me. They were just playing with me,” Mariah said.

In 1990, Carey was nominated for five Grammy Awards, including the first of three nominations for Album of the Year. She won two awards: Best Pop Vocal Performance and Best New Artist for her debut single Vision of Love.

Then, until the end of the 90s, despite 11 championships and indelible classics, Carey remained trophyless. In 1996, he was nominated for six awards for his album Fantasy, but lost them all. Her 1997 album Butterfly, which Mariah considers her best, also failed to win the award. Then came 2006. You’d think the Recording Academy would hoist some awards for the comeback, and Mariah received eight nominations but only won three.

Since then, the Grammys have largely forgotten Mariah Carey’s existence, and her last nomination was for Best Gospel Performance in 2009. Mariah Carey didn’t even get a Spoken Word nomination for her audiobook memoir The Meaning of Mariah.

It is unknown where this disdain for the world-famous singer comes from. But the love and care of the fans speaks for itself, without the need for any awards.
