Peter Dinklage, who rose to fame as Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, plays the lead role in the Shakespeare tragedy and was seen wearing scary makeup on set.
In Lear Rex, another adaptation of William Shakespeare’s King Lear, Dinklage plays a jester, a key character, a witty and honest advisor to the king who uses humor and sarcasm to point out his shortcomings.
Dinklage has solid company: Al Pacino, 84, and Stephen Dorff, 51. The Godfather icon was seen in royal attire, wearing a black tunic under an ornate purple dress with gold trim, the Daily Mail reported.
The film is about an aging king who wishes to leave his lands to his daughters in order to avoid strife after his death. One of the most canonical adaptations of King Lear remains Grigory Kozintsev’s 1970 two-part film of the same name.
