In Demi Lovato’s documentary Child Star, Columbus said she became more careful about her casting choices after Macaulay Culkin’s popularity.
The truth is that the director didn’t know how problematic Culkin’s family was and couldn’t imagine the pressure his parents would put on him. Due to Macaulay’s father trying to make as much money as possible from his son, Culkin was left without a role, became addicted to drugs and barely returned to normal life.
Christopher Columbus decided to be more careful when choosing actors for the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
“I felt a huge responsibility to young artists who were doing more than one movie at a time. I told them that they would have to live with fame for the rest of their lives and they had to learn to live with it,” Columbus said.
Let us remind you that plans to shoot a series based on Harry Potter are known in the spring of 2023. The project has already recruited a showrunner and director. The author of the books about the wizard JK Rowling appreciated the script of the pilot version, and an open casting for the main roles was recently announced, where everyone can participate.
