The biopic “Maria” starring Angelina Jolie will be shown in Russia. However, the exact release date is unknown. The Paradise film company announced that the film will be released this fall.
The film “Maria” will tell the story of Maria Callas, who lost her voice towards the end of her career and almost never left her Paris apartment in the last years of her life. The film was directed by Pablo Larraina, who became very popular after the release of the film “Jackie” with Natalie Portman. Steven Knight (Spencer, Peaky Blinders) is responsible for the script. The film also stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Jolie has previously admitted that it took her more than six months to prepare for the operatic roles in the film. “Everyone here knows I was very nervous. I spent almost seven months preparing because when you work with Pablo, you can’t leave anything halfway. It requires, most notably, you really work, you really study, you rehearse,” she said, according to Variety.
