This week, our column will be filled almost entirely by the stars of the 81st Venice Film Festival, which will run from August 28 to September 7 and will present some of the most anticipated films of the year. So the previous day, the festival hosted the premieres of Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and Pablo Larraín’s “Maria” starring Angelina Jolie.
