Frieren: Beyond Journey's End will return for a third season in October 2027, more than a year after the second season came to an end. The confirmation gives fans a long countdown, but it means the studio, Madhouse, will have the time it needs to keep the quality that defined the earlier seasons.
The anime holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 on Crunchyroll, a nearly perfect score that reflects the studio's work. Some fans consider it among the best anime ever made.

Premiere date for season 3
The autumn 2027 window was confirmed for the long-awaited return of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The wait will be considerable, but the extra time is expected to let the studio maintain, at minimum, the standard set by the second season.
What Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is about
The story begins where most fantasy tales end. After a ten-year quest, a group of heroes made up of the elf mage Frieren, the hero Himmel, the priest Heiter and the warrior Eisen defeats the demon king and restores peace to the world. For Frieren, an elf who lives for thousands of years, that decade with her companions was little more than an insignificant instant in her long existence.
The real conflict begins as time passes for the humans around her and her old companions grow old or die. Realizing she never took the time to truly know them or understand their emotions, Frieren is filled with regret. Joined by Fern, a young apprentice mage, and Stark, a young warrior, she sets out on a new journey through the same places she once traveled with her old friends, this time seeking not to save the world but to understand the brevity of human life and the meaning of the memories and bonds people leave behind.
